General information:

This is a highly experiential course designed to support each other in developing a therapeutic presence for themselves and their clients. There will be space for 14 attendees. It will be a chance to learn Gestalt Theory, connect with others, develop friendships, discover more about yourself, and go home with tools you may apply to your personal and professional lives. I will provide snacks all three days and ask that you bring your own lunches on Saturday. There are several restaurants nearby that you may choose to order from or eat out if you’d prefer. (We will not accrue CE units during break and lunch times.) Also, please be advised; my four-legged co-therapist will be present. Her name is Love and she is a lab-mix.

Goals:

  • To be able to draw from your own awareness of the present moment in a way that increases your clients’ self-awareness by 1. modeling a Gestalt-informed awareness practice, and 2. through effective phenomenological investigating- ie; asking questions that bring clients to a greater awareness of their experience

  • To know enough of the fundamentals of Gestalt theory and practice so that you can decide if this is an approach that you would like to further investigate and apply

  • To connect with a community of Gestalt-enthusiasts to support you personally and professionally even after the class is over
